The 26th Anniversary of Morowali Regency is more than just an annual celebration. Behind the vibrant festivities lies a powerful message about the region’s future: innovation, collaboration, and sustainability. This is the vision PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (PT Vale) brought to life through its Indonesia Growth Project (IGP) Morowali, showcased at the Regent’s Residence Square from December 5–9, 2025.
PT Vale’s presence was not merely ceremonial—it was a demonstration of how industry can serve as a strategic partner in regional development. Over five days, PT Vale exhibited a range of community-driven products: premium organic rice, eco-friendly compost fertilizer, diverse MSME and herbal products, and maggot cultivation from TPS3R facilities as an innovative solution for organic waste management. These initiatives reflect the success of PT Vale’s local economic empowerment programs in collaboration with surrounding communities.
Creating Opportunities: Job Fair Participation
Beyond the exhibition, PT Vale and its contractors joined the Job Fair, a key highlight of the anniversary celebrations. Hundreds of job seekers flocked to the venue, eager to explore career opportunities—underscoring the community’s enthusiasm for broader employment access. This initiative reinforces PT Vale’s commitment to workforce development and improving human capital in Morowali.
Community Engagement and Positive Impact
The response from visitors was overwhelmingly positive. Randi, a local attendee, shared his excitement:
“I’ve visited PT Vale’s booth twice during this event. I came last year too, and now I see even more variety in the products. I hope these empowerment programs continue to grow and benefit the community.”
Similarly, Misdar expressed admiration for the showcased innovations: “The products are impressive. I hope PT Vale keeps working closely with local communities through programs like this so we can progress together and gain more knowledge.”
These testimonials highlight that PT Vale’s initiatives deliver more than economic benefits—they foster trust and optimism for sustainable development.
Mamaleo: A Symbol of Sustainability
PT Vale also introduced Mamaleo, its sustainability mascot inspired by the Maleo bird, an endemic species native to Sulawesi. Mamaleo is more than a mascot—it embodies PT Vale’s commitment to biodiversity conservation and integrating environmental stewardship into its operations.
Mamaleo quickly became a crowd favorite, drawing visitors for photo opportunities and creating an interactive experience that reinforces PT Vale’s image as an environmentally conscious and community-oriented company. The choice of the Maleo bird—a protected and unique species—sends a strong message: industrial growth must go hand in hand with environmental preservation.
Building Together for the Future
PT Vale’s participation in Morowali’s 26th Anniversary was not about promotion—it was a tangible expression of its mission to enhance quality of life and grow alongside local communities. Through economic empowerment, environmental conservation, and human resource development, PT Vale strives to create lasting positive impact.
“Our involvement in this celebration reflects PT Vale’s commitment to sustainable growth with the community. We are not just an industry player—we are a development partner. The products we showcased prove that collaboration can generate economic value while preserving the environment,” said Wafir, Head of Bahodopi Project at PT Vale.
Looking ahead, PT Vale will continue strengthening partnerships with local governments, communities, and stakeholders to ensure every development initiative delivers long-term benefits. With sustainability at its core, PT Vale believes economic growth and environmental protection can coexist—building a better future for generations to come.
“We will keep expanding empowerment and sustainability programs while creating job opportunities. A better future for Morowali can only be achieved through synergy between industry, government, and society,” Wafir concluded.
