PT Vale once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) while preserving local culture through its participation in the 54th National Family Welfare Movement Day (HKG PKK) and the 46th Anniversary of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas) held in Makassar. During the exhibition at Trans Studio Mall Makassar from July 9–11, 2026, PT Vale showcased a range of products from its assisted MSMEs, including Teduhu woven crafts from Nuha Village and Sampa Konao crafts from Matano Village.
This participation reflects PT Vale’s commitment to promoting community economic independence while introducing the cultural richness of East Luwu to a broader audience.
According to Endra Kusuma, Head of External Relations Regional and Growth at PT Vale, national events such as HKG PKK and the Dekranas Anniversary provide valuable opportunities for assisted MSMEs to expand their market reach and enhance their competitiveness.
“We want the communities we support to become more economically independent, build sustainable businesses, and gain greater recognition for their products—not only at the regional level but also nationally,” said Endra.
PT Vale’s support for MSMEs goes beyond product promotion. Through its Community Development and Empowerment Program (PPM), the company provides comprehensive assistance ranging from business infrastructure support and business management training to marketing, product development, and branding strategies. These programs involve experienced trainers and experts who help entrepreneurs improve product quality and strengthen their competitiveness.
In addition, PT Vale continues to create promotional opportunities through participation in various exhibitions, including events organized in collaboration with Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). The company also operates an MSME Gallery, serving as a permanent showcase for products developed by its assisted enterprises.
One of the standout products featured at the exhibition was Teduhu weaving, a traditional craft that carries significant cultural value but faces challenges related to the declining number of artisans.
“There used to be many artisans practicing this craft, but their numbers have decreased as fewer young people are interested in learning it. That is why we provide training for younger generations to ensure these skills remain alive and are not lost,” Endra explained.
These efforts have begun to yield positive results. Several assisted MSMEs have participated in provincial and national-level exhibitions, including events in Jakarta. Today, around five to ten assisted MSMEs have successfully expanded their market reach across the province, with the food and beverage sector continuing to be the largest contributor.
To further promote local products, PT Vale also utilizes products made by its assisted MSMEs as official souvenirs for guests and business partners. This initiative is expected to increase product exposure while opening up new market opportunities for MSME entrepreneurs in East Luwu.
Beyond supporting the exhibition, PT Vale also participated in the “Jalan Sehat Anti Mager” (Anti-Sedentary Healthy Walk) held on Saturday, July 11, as part of the 2026 National HKG PKK and Dekranas Anniversary celebrations. The company’s involvement reflects its commitment to strengthening collaboration with various stakeholders to support community empowerment, cultural preservation, and inclusive economic growth.
