Sorowako, August 19, 2026 – Amid an evolving employment landscape, healthy industrial relations require a platform for constructive dialogue that brings together the interests of both the company and its employees. In this spirit, PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (PT Vale) held the opening and orientation session for the 22nd Collective Labor Agreement (CLA/PKB) Negotiations, officially inaugurated by the Head of the South Sulawesi Provincial Office of Manpower and Transmigration, Dr. Jayadi Nas, at TAB Hall. The event was also attended by representatives of the East Luwu Regency Office of Manpower and Transmigration, along with the chairs and secretaries of labor unions operating within PT Vale.

The opening and orientation program marks the initial stage in preparing for negotiations between management and labor union representatives to develop an agreement that remains responsive to changes in the labor environment while strengthening a harmonious, strategic, and equitable partnership that supports both the company's long-term sustainability and employee well-being.

In accordance with applicable regulations, three labor unions successfully passed the membership verification process and will participate in the negotiations. The labor union delegation consists of four representatives from FSPKEP, three representatives from SPBVI, and two representatives from SPSI, totaling nine union representatives. PT Vale management will likewise be represented by a nine-member negotiating team.

Heriyanto Agung Putra, PT Vale's Chief Human Capital Officer, emphasized that the company views the PKB as far more than an administrative requirement. Instead, it represents an important opportunity to strengthen the foundation of industrial relations through dialogue, consultation, and mutual agreement.

"The PKB is not merely an obligation but an opportunity to build more harmonious, strategic, and equitable industrial relations. Let us use this opportunity to strengthen our partnership and engage in constructive dialogue, so that any challenges or differences of opinion during the negotiations can lead to the best possible solutions," said Heriyanto.

According to Heriyanto, the company's sustainability and employee well-being are closely interconnected. PT Vale is committed to ensuring healthy and sustainable business growth so that it can continue creating value and prosperity for its employees. At the same time, a supportive work environment and healthy industrial relations contribute to productivity and enable employees to make meaningful contributions to the company's long-term success.

"For us, employees are a vital part of the company's growth journey. I am grateful for the strong commitment and motivation demonstrated by PT Vale employees to work together in building a company that continues to grow and create positive impact," he added.

Jayadi Nas, Head of the South Sulawesi Provincial Office of Manpower and Transmigration, praised PT Vale's commitment to preparing for the PKB negotiation process. He highlighted that healthy industrial relations depend on decision-making processes that uphold dialogue and democratic principles.

"On behalf of the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, we extend our highest appreciation. In addressing various corporate and labor-related matters, I often regard PT Vale as a benchmark because I have seen firsthand how the company manages its licensing processes and operations professionally. There is much that can be learned from PT Vale," said Jayadi.

He expressed hope that both the orientation program and the negotiation process would embrace the principles of deliberation and consensus-building as the foundation for strong industrial relations.

"Differences and dynamics are a natural part of the process. Let this be an opportunity to make PT Vale even stronger in the future. We are grateful that PT Vale continues to grow and thrive by giving equal importance to both the interests of the company and those of its employees," he added.

This spirit reinforces the understanding that the PKB is not simply a contractual document, but an essential mechanism for building a long-term partnership between management and employees. Through open dialogue, constructive engagement, and a shared commitment to finding solutions, the negotiation process is expected to produce an agreement that balances business sustainability, productivity, employment certainty, and employee well-being.
